The 2022 vintage brought serenity back to the vineyard with a heathy harvest and correct volumes. With rainfall accumulations far from excessive, the year 2022 was marked by average temperatures higher than seasonal norms and rainfall deficits from the start of the vine’s vegetative cycle. At the beginning of April, episodes of frost will recall the terrible nights of April 6 and 7 of 2021, but fortunately with an impact beyond measure. The year 2022 is the year of all records for sunshine with the equivalent of an additional month of July.

It shows a rather quiet, restrained fruit character as well as great harmony and seamlessness. Fermented in 20% new oak, alive with good acidity and highlighted by light toast, almond and mineral accents that add complexity. Medium- to full-bodied and quite well structured. Drink or hold.

This white is about finesse, with a lithe frame and vibrant structure setting the stage for apple, lemon and hazelnut flavors. Evolves to the long aftertaste, picking up mineral and baking spice notes, showing excellent length and balance.

Outstanding
Cool, pretty and airy aromas include those of Granny Smith apple, acacia blossom and smoky white orchard fruit, especially white peach. There is fine volume to the delicious middleweight flavors that also coat the palate with sappy dry extract that buffers the moderately firm acid spine shaping the sneaky long, well-balanced and beautifully complex finale. This is an excellent Puligny villages.
