Domaine Louis Jadot
Louis Jadot Description
Chapelle-Chambertin is one of the eight Grands Crus of the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the most northern of the great communes of the Côte de Nuits. This vineyard lies on an east-facing slope. This Pinot Noir wine is fermented in vats for up to four weeks before maturing for 18 to 20 months in oak barrels.
James Suckling: 95 Points
Vinous: 95 Points
The 2017 Chapelle- Chambertin Grand Cru offers captivating briar and subtle marine influences on the nose, one of the most nuanced from Jadot this year. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and silky- smooth texture, offering raspberry, wild strawberry, white pepper and touches of sage toward the finish. I suspect this will gain more complexity with bottle age because there is already impressive persistency considering the vintage.
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) was showing well, displaying aromas of ripe wild berries, cherries, candied peel and dark chocolate framed by some creamy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely concentrated, with good depth at the core, fine structuring tannins and a long, energetic finish. This numbers among the portfolio's high points this year.
Burghound
Impressive, bright aromas of red cherries, blueberries and violets. This has a complex and confident feel. There’s good structure and depth on the palate with a wealth of smooth, succulent tannins, carrying fresh, ripe and even flavors. More than 100-year-old vines.
