Giuseppe Rinaldi - Barolo Brunate 2018 (Pre-arrival) (1.5L)
This item is available for pre-arrival.
Wine Spectator: 95 Points
An incisive, elegant red marked by rose hip, strawberry, cherry, menthol and sweet, spicy oak aromas and flavors. Supported by a swath of chalky tannins, this is long and spicy in the end, with a core of sweet fruit.
Vinous: 95 Points
Rinaldi's 2018 Barolo Brunate is one of the more satisfying wines of the vintage. Austere, medium in body and classic in feel, with that extra bit of textural resonance that is such a Brunate signature, the 2018 has real potential. Dark cherry, ,elted road tar, tobacco, spice, menthol, sage and licorice all build in the glass. The 2018 is going to need a few years to soften and start hitting its stride, but all the ingredients are there. It's a powerhouse, that much is certain.
James Suckling: 94 Points
Aromas of strawberries, orange cordial and mushrooms with some dust follow through to a medium body with round tannins and a juicy finish. Very subtle at the end and slightly open-grained on the palate. It already drinks nicely. Drink or hold.
