Chateau de Chamilly Description
Magnificent Mercurey, balanced in its youth and even better with age. This cuvée is slightly fruity. It is a fluid, fresh, mineral wine with subtle tannins that make it easy and pleasant to drink from its first years.

The 2021 Mercurey Au Pied du Mont Morin is a clear garnet in color, with youthful magenta at the rim. It has an expressive bouquet of bing cherry, violet, lavender, and the herbal garrigue and almost saline notes I most often associate with young Mercurey. The palate is linear, with tart berry fruit up front leading to a saline mid-palate and bright, mouthwatering finish. Youthful is certainly the word here, as fine-grained tannins and that bracing acidity, coupled with the fresh fruit notes, speak to a wine that will mature gracefully. Very good now, and better in a couple of years.
