Pouilly-Fuissé is a white wine made in a village in the Mâconnais (Burgundy region in central France) that produces a highly distinctive Chardonnay wine. The vineyards producing this wine are part of a landscape where the limestone and heavy clay soils combine to create a unique ‘terroir.’ Louis Latour Pouilly-Fuissé, which happens to be one of our current favorites, has floral aromas, a fruit forward flavor and hints of buttery hazelnuts. It has the perfect balance of acidity, fruit, and warmth, along with lemony citrus notes and a hint of pear.

The Pouilly-Fuissé has a brilliant pale yellow color. Its floral nose evokes scents of acacia and honeysuckle. Round and ample on the palate, it reveals aromas of yellow fruits.

An instantly appealing Burgundian Chardonnay that you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy. Effusive nose of quince with delicate notes of candied orange peel and butterscotch. Stacks of fruit in the middle of the medium-bodied palate, then a wonderfully bright, stony finish. The excellent balance suggests this will develop well for a few years. Drink or hold.
