Louis Jadot Description
Nuits-Saint-Georges is the southernmost commune of the Côte de Nuits, with primarily limestone and marl soils. The grapes are handpicked and sorted, then undergo fermentation. After a long maceration, a proportion of the wine is set to age in French oak barrels. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

This is rich and smoky, with a core of black cherry, black currant and spice flavors. There is a firm backbone, and a mineral element emerges on the savory finish.

Here too there is just enough menthol character to warrant a mention though not so much to detract from the transparency of the unusually spicy black raspberry, plum and noticeably earth-infused aromas. Once again there is excellent density and power to the mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract that helps to buffer the supporting structure shaping the rustic, robust and slightly warm finale. This is an excellent Nuits villages.
