Louis Jadot Description
Grande Montagne is a unique parcel in Chassagne-Montrachet, at the top of the slope around 300 meters of elevation and with part of the climat classified as Premier Cru and part as Villages. Overlooking the highly regarded Premier Crus Cailleret, Virondot, and Romanée, this offers a bit of their glamour and drama while carving out a unique position as an approachable, vivacious white Burgundy for enjoyment in its youth.
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
Rich and buttery on the nose, with layers of yeast, vanilla, and oak spice. The palate is refined, showing bright acidity, white peach, and Bosc pear, balanced by salinity, buttery brioche, and a stony finish. Textured, rich, and delicately layered—perfect with poached seafood like butter-poached shrimp, lobster, or caviar over angel hair pasta.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
Peach, pineapple, lemon and vanilla aromas and flavors highlight this broad, harmonious white, with lively acidity driving the fruit and oak spice notes to their lingering conclusion.
