With a powerful nose of red berries, this wine is nevertheless delicate, with a silky texture and graceful finish. It will develop for 15 to 20 years in the bottle.

Louis Jadot Description
Les Baudes is one of the 24 Premier Cru vineyards of the commune of Chambolle-Musigny. The commune is unique in the Côte de Nuits for its soils: chalky over hard bedrock, which stresses the vines. This Pinot Noir wine is fermented in vats for up to 4 weeks, then aged 18 to 20 months in oak barrels before bottling.
Vinous: 94 Points
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has an impressively detailed bouquet of mineral-infused black fruit, pressed iris flower, and light iodine aromas. The palate is full of energy, the blood-orange-infused red fruit quite evervescent in the mouth. Palpable energy and a sense of frisson toward the persistent finish. Superb.
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes (Domaine Gagey) wafts from the glass a superb bouquet peonies, cherries, red berries, rose petals, bergamot, white tea and rock salt. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with lively acids and refined tannins cloaked in a succulent core of fruit, concluding with a long and perfumed finish. This is especially good this year and well worth seeking out.
Wine Enthusiast: 94 Points
Heady notes of red cherry shimmer with both Morello and Amarena overtones on the nose of this wine. The fresh palate brings even more red fruit, this time wagering all on vivid tartness. The body has slight crunch, sinuous yet firm with a smoky overtone and great finesse. Freshness frames all.
Burghound: 93 Points
Outstanding
Here too there is enough menthol to distract from the more deeply pitched aromas of black cherry, cassis and violet. There is excellent volume to the powerful and solidly concentrated middle weight plus flavors that exhibit both good minerality and a taut muscularity while offering very fine length on the dusty and built-to-age finale. This will definitely require at least some forbearance.
