This Barolo offers a prime example of power and elegance wrapped together. It opens with aromas of macerated black cherries, menthol, star anise, clove and dried leaves. The lush palate is exuberant and giving with its fruit, but the savory elements of the wine hold their hand as if to bring the wine back to balance, knowing there are many years to come. This is a stellar wine.

The 2019 Barolo Sarmassa is another impressive wine in this range from Brezza. Arich, virile Barolo, the Sarmassa packs a serious punch. Black cherry, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice, mocha, sage and underbrush flesh out in the glass. The 2019 is wonderfully deep and expansive, with tremendous palate presence and tons of character. What a wine!
