This Bonarda shows a deep violet color with bluish reflections. The nose is intense and complex. Intense aromas of ripe black fruit, blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, chocolate and liquor, with some spicy notes of fresh herbs provided by the Cabernet Franc appear. The taste has a sweet impact with silky tannins and aromas of ripe black and red fruits with notes of licorice and vanilla. Its natural acidity is refreshing. By its concentration and complexity the finish is long and persistent.

James Suckling: 93 Points
A deep, stony, mineral bonarda with red cherries, blue fruit, graphite and some grilled herbs. Tight and juicy on the palate with firm but resolved tannins and a long, linear finish. Lovely austerity here. Drink or hold.
Vinous: 92 Points
The 2020 Bonarda is a blend featuring 15% Cabernet Franc and originates from El Mirador in Rivadavia and Gualtallary in the Uco Valley. It underwent a 15-month aging process in used foudres. A purple hue. The nose offers notes of raspberry and blackberry, combined with nuances of ashes and blood orange. Dry and juicy, the palate flows with a supple texture and fine-grained, light tannins that linger on the black fruit flavors. This represents a contemporary style of Bonarda.
Wine Advocate: 91 Points
Despite having similar alcohol levels and acidity and freshness parameters, the 2020 Bonarda comes through as riper than the 2019 I tasted next to it. It reveals some earthy tannins and a faint rusticity, inherent to the variety.
Wine Enthusiast: 91 Points
Winemaker Alejandro Vigil added a dash of Cabernet Franc to this 85% Bonarda. The result is a full-bodied red that offers concentrated notes of berry jam and licorice on the nose and palate. The wine's fruit-forward character includes red berries mixed with subtle notes of thyme alongside good acidity.
