A refined yet not too sophisticated wine combining notes of black cherry, blackberry/mint on both the nose/medium-bodied palate, with hints of roasted herbs/dark chocolate on the finish, as well as soft tannins.
Daniel Hernandez-Brun for K&D: 91 Points
This is a tasty Bordeaux style blend, with a dash of Syrah that lends a feral and peppery character. Black currant, raspberry jam, blackberry, allspice, vanilla bean, and tobacco waft from the glass and echo on the full-bodied palate. It has a drying texture, with fine-grained tannins and lingering black fruit, and a little heat at the finish. Hopefully that heat dissipates in time, which this wine could use a little more of. Good now, but better in a few more years. 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 25% Petit Verdot, and 10% Syrah.
James Suckling: 90 Points
Full ripe blackberry fruit is wrapped around a core of healthy tannins. Self-confidently dry thanks to the slightly robust tannins, but they’re not a jot too much and the wine becomes more and more harmonious as it flows over your palate. A Bordeaux blend.
