Domaine Jean Chartron - Jean Chartron Rully Montmorin 2020 (750ml)
John Gilman 90 Points:
Jean-Michel’s 2020 Rully “Montmorin” bottling was also showing very nicely in early December, having recovered from its mise and offering up a lovely bouquet of apple, pear, lime peel, stony minerality, and a deft touch of new oak. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, long and well-balanced, with a good core and soil signature this year, bright acids, and a long, classy finish.
Vinous
The 2020 Rully Montmorin is Chartron’s largest cuvée from four hectares of vine. It has an almost Puligny, quite austere bouquet with touches of petrichor and sea cave. The palate is taut and fresh with a honeyed tincture on the entry, veins of Clementine and Nashi pear with a harmonious finish. Enjoy this easygoing Rully over the next 4-8 years.
Wine Advocate
Exhibiting aromas of green apple, pear, and white flowers, the 2020 Rully Montmorin is medium-bodied, ample and open-knit, with a gently textural attack and a saline finish.
