Delectable, fruity nose underscored with aromas of red fruits and notes of nutmeg spice. Generous and aromatic on the palate, with supple, mellow tannins. Notes of red fruit and spice offer depth and lively acidity. Expressive, generous and enjoyable right now, this is a perfect wine to enjoy with a slight chill.
Pair with all meats, chicken, wild mushrooms, and strong cheeses.
James Suckling: 91 Points
I love the nose of violets that literally leaps out you, then the combination of ripeness and juiciness on the palate, where the tannins are discreetly present, underlining the cherry and blackcurrant-pastille fruit. Quite an impressive interplay of warmth (those tannins) and mineral freshness at the long finish. Drink or hold.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Opening in the glass with notes of cherries, berries, sweet spices and licorice, the 2020 Brouilly is medium to full-bodied, ample and lively, with bright acids, polished tannins and a seamless, harmonious profile. It's another serious wine from the Château de La Chaize, where serious investments in the vineyards and winery are really paying off.
Wine Enthusiast: 90 Points
Blackberry, black plum, and cassis aromas open on the nose along with hints of cigar box and cranberry skin. The palate is round with an adolescent acidity on the precipice of maturity. Hints of dried orange peel indulge the wine with added complexity.
