Pepper and blackberry aroma. Rich and high in tannins. Certainly give this time to breathe, about an solid hour or two. The palate is pleasantly reminescent of violet flowers, blackcurrants and blueberries. The finish is dry and lingering. Very enjoyable.
Château Simard Description
Château Simard is a Saint-Emilion estate that dates back to the 18th century. This comes from a stellar vintage that starts to drink best a few years after the vintage. The wine was aged in concrete vats allowing the fruit to shine all-around.
Wine Advocate: 91 Points
The dark ruby/purple color is accompanied by loads of cassis and cherry jam notes intermixed with hints of licorice, incense, roasted herbs and underbrush. Full, fleshy and already irresistible.
James Suckling: 90 Points
A fruity wine with lovely plum and orange peel character and a hint of coffee and chocolate. Medium body, fine tannins. Fresh finish.
