Raspberry color, with purple fringe. Fine nose with notes of smoky herbs, morello cherry and dark flowers (rose, violet). Aeration delivers a licorice component and a hint of pepper and smoked meat. Forward red fruits and wild fresh berries. The palate is elegant and of a nice complexity, mixing smoky notes and ripe red fruits.

Château Léo de Prades is a characteristic wine of the A.O.C Saint-Estèphe: powerful, rich and delicate, it can be enjoyed after a few years of ageing. Legend has it that the Marquis Léopold de Prades, who loved the region, wanted to own a vineyard. One of his friends gave him a vineyard that was already producing a wine of great quality. Unfortunately, the property was divided up by inheritance and succession. After bitter negotiations, in 1999, the Marquis de SaintEstèphe cooperative succeeded in acquiring this vineyard and reconstituting it as it was originally.
