Daniel Hernandez-Brun for K&D: 91 Points
The ’22 G de Guiraud is a fine example of dry Sauternes. The floral bouquet of marigold and white peach slowly develops river stone and a slightly reductive struck match note. It is full-bodied, round, and creamy, with generous flavors of apricot, peach, and bitter citrus rind, all precariously balanced by bright, mouthwatering acidity. 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Semillon, aged on lees for 6 months in stainless steel and oak barrels that previously held the Chateau Guiraud Sauternes.
Vinous: 90 Points
The 2022 G de Chateau Guiraud offers wild peach and honeysuckle scents on what feels like a discrete nose that unfurls in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed opening, a little richer than others, but maybe without the same tension and complexity on the finish. But I do appreciate this G for its texture more than anything.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
Bright and juicy, with peach, yellow plum and jasmine notes mixed together, plus a subtle quinine thread that curls through the finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Drink now through 2026.
