Ca'Viola - Barolo Caviot 2019 (750ml)
The Barolo Caviot of the Ca Viola winery has a ruby red color and garnet reflections. On the nose, the wine reveals an intense and broad aromatic profile with floral notes of violet and rose, typical of Nebbiolo, aromas of red fruits of the undergrowth, and light balsamic notes on the finish. On the palate, it is well structured with velvety tannins and good balance. The finish is long and persistent. Perfect with roasts and game stews.
James Suckling: 95 Points
A very pretty 2019 with polished tannins in all the right places and a silky texture. It’s medium-bodied with lovely fruit and a fresh and refined finish. Strawberry, cloves and other spices on the palate. Yet very elegant.
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
Aromas of macerated raspberries, wild rose, thyme and savory spice open the nose of this pretty Barolo. The fine-tuned and well-constructed palate delivers a deep core of cherry fruit in tandem with forest floor and truffle notes finishing with firm, but fine tannins and classic acidity.
Wine Spectator: 92 Points
Expressive, featuring cherry and strawberry fruit complemented by iron, menthol and mineral flavors. Firms up as this builds to a long aftertaste, where the fruit returns to provide equilibrium.
