One of our most limited production items, Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye continues teh legacy of America's first whiskey variety (rye) from America's first whiskey company (Michter's originally known as Shenk's). After a nearly three year abscence from the market, Michter's then Master Distiller Willie Pratt finally gave the green light for the re-release of Michter's 10 Year Straight Rye in April 2014.

Concord grape juice, leather armchair, cola syrup, iced tea, roasted pecans, and furniture polish on the nose. The palate is deeply fruity, with cooked cherries, blackberries, Concord grape jelly, Coca-Cola, dark chocolate, silky baking spice, and white pepper, with a lush and velvety texture. A complex finish of bitter chocolate, peanut shell, Dr. Pepper, and leathery oak rounds things out.

Dark amber color, strongly and sweetly aromatic with hints of cigar tobacco and allspice. Pleasant, deep toffee flavors almost threaten to turn sweet, but the finish is brisk, brief and dry. Medium body.
