The 1970s saw the rise of Roger Moore’s Bond. He brought different, mischievous facets and humour to the character, cheering up a somewhat dire decade.
A man for the times, he overcame filmic adversaries with elegant aplomb. While the business of making movies remained as serious as whisky distilling, he reminded us that life is about enjoyment of the finer, better still the finest, of all that it offers.
The packaging design includes sketches and storyboards from The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Stromborg’s Atlantis marine research lab, and various space station concepts from Moonraker (1979).
Macallan Description
The distinct range tells the story of innovation over 60 years and the pioneering character attributes of James Bond and The Macallan. James Bond is a modern innovator and man of perennial evolution. The films have become closely associated with ingenious 007 gadgets that are used on Bond’s mission to deliver for the greater good; and have become a hallmark of the franchise’s popularity.
Decade II explores the Bond innovations and archives of the 1970s. The pack design features original sketches and concept art for the Space Station in Moonraker (1979) and Atlantis Exterior Concept Art from The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).
The sketch of Stromborg’s Atlantis marine research lab was inspired by the Cala di Volpe hotel in Sardinia, Italy, and the hotel itself also featured as a location and set.
