With a clear gold color, this wine express a nice aromatic complexity and the nose reveals beautiful white flowers, lemon, citrus peel, hazelnut and fresh almond notes, enhanced by fine oak flavor. The palate is well-balanced between a nice freshness and acidity, and ripeness and concentration of grapes. The finish is pure and mineral. Vinous: 93 Points
Limpid straw-yellow. Mineral-accented nectarine, orange, honey and jasmine on the intensely perfumed nose. Smooth, fleshy and energetic in the mouth, offering juicy orchard and pit fruit flavors complemented by fennel, sweet butter and vanilla flourishes. Shows impressive depth as well as energy and finishes minerally and very long, with lingering citrus and pit fruit notes. 20% new oak.
James Suckling: 91 Points
Lots of sliced-apple, lemon-rind with some flint aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and a clean, vivid finish. Light floral undertones. Drink now.

Hyland Vineyard has some of Oregon's oldest vines, though it is not known if any of the original plantings are part of this wine. It's tight and almost steely, with compact green herb, apple and earth flavors. A thin vein of iron ore can be detected, and the overall balance and style suggest that it could be aged another half decade or longer.
